Leadership and Major Investors

The Chamber is governed by a Board of Trustees that is approved by the membership. The Board and Executive Committee set long-term goals and policies as well as strategy to deliver the programs and benefits to best serve the needs of members.

Councils and Committees

Business Council
The Business Council is an elected board consisting of 26 leaders in various industries throughout our community. It is the oversight body for dynamic and well-established programs designed to educate and enhance businesses. These programs include the Business Education Series, Customer Service Excellence Program and the Business Expo.

Government Affairs Committee
The Government Affairs Committee is a 17-member volunteer committee of business leaders who meet monthly to guide the Chamber in its government advocacy programs. The committee interviews candidates and makes endorsements, analyzes ballot initiatives and policy proposals, makes political contributions on behalf of BizPAC, and oversees grassroots campaign support through the Chamber’s GOAL program.

Leadership Council
The Leadership Council is the governing body of the leadership programs including Leadership Las Vegas and Focus Las Vegas. Council terms are one year, with the exception of the Chair who serves three terms. The Council oversees curriculum and speakers for the leadership programs and selects candidates for each program class.

Past Chairmen’s Council
The Past Chairmen’s Council meets at the discretion of the President & CEO of the Chamber and the President of the Past Chairmen’s Council. Membership on the Council is open to any past chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Marketing Task Force
The Marketing Task Force is a select group of members that assist the Chamber’s Marketing Department with the execution of the Chamber’s marketing strategies. The task force is made up of many members from the marketing and communications industry.

Prospectors
The Prospectors are comprised of thirty long-standing Chamber members who serve as “ambassadors” of the Chamber. Prospectors are the official hosts of the Board of Trustees Installation, Business After Hours and Chamber Night at Spring Mountain Ranch. Prospectors serve an indefinite term on the committee and are elected by a majority vote by the Prospector board.

Navigators
Chamber Navigators are a group of seasoned veteran Chamber members who help new members maximize the value of their membership. Navigators welcome new members into the Chamber by introducing them at networking events, explaining Chamber programs and member benefits and guiding them to take advantage of all the benefits Chamber membership offers.

President’s Club and Board of Advisors
President’s Club and Board of Advisors are upper levels of Chamber membership. Members enjoy additional benefits including additional opportunities to build business relationships at special functions and VIP events. Members are featured in a special section of the Membership Directory as well as The Business Voice. In addition, membership includes enhanced marketing opportunities.
